So today is my first day back to work since last Monday. The time off was needed.

I spent Tuesday cleaning and finishing up knitting and gift wrapping. I fucking forgot to get pictures of everything I made. I made a handful of snoods or cowls or whatever you want to call them and a couple sets of place settings. Eh. That night, or Wednesday morning (whatever) the snow started. Anthony's glasses broke so I had to drive to the airport around midnight to pick up Fran. She's staying with us until tomorrow (Tuesday the 29th). I'm okay with her visiting, but an entire week is too long. I can handle 3-5 day visits. Anyway, I looked like shit and figured it'd be okay. It's just the airport and I will never see anyone at the baggage claim ever again... and of course, there's four people from work flying in on the same flight. We survived the treacherous drive home.
Wednesday we didn't really get to sleep in since Fran was up at 5:30, and then 6:15. I fucking hate getting up early when I don't have to, but I was a good sport. It was still snowing but we made it out to the grocery and liquor stores and then ate at the GB Fish n' Chips. Went home and made some dinner and played some wii.
Thursday we went out shopping again and I made a lasagna (veggie: mushroom, eggplant, yellow squash, zucchini, cheeses, etc.). Of course, we had to go to mass (blah I haven't been or felt religious for at least five years now and I hate catholic mass). We got there 30 minutes early since Fran wanted good seats. We saw some little kids put on a nativity play and sat through a mass. Then went home, at the lasagna (I had a couple glasses of wine) then we headed over to Patrick and Jaren's Xmas Eve party where I downed a cranberry gin and tonic among others. We hung out there until after midnight which was probably a bad idea.
On Christmas I woke up still gloriously drunk. Amen. We opened some presents. I got some really awesome jewelry from Anthony that he got off etsy and some awesome slouchy engineer boots and a couple of books. Fran showered us with gift cards. We got ready and headed over to my parents for the traditional quiche (cheese, mushroom, onion and since my vegetarianism, bacon or ham on the side). Delish. My parents got me this amazing desk vanity and some other stuff.
ETA:

We exchanged gifts with Heather, who left to go hang out with her boyfriend's family. Dad and Anthony left to go put the vanity together back at our place, and I hung out and watched
A Muppets' Christmas Carol which is even better now that they cut that stupid slow song out at the bridge. Plus, it was more awesome with bourbon. From there, we watched some other movie with John Travolta in it as a bad guy who hijacks a subway. Yes, it was as bad as it sounds. Hung out, Heather came back, we ate dinner, Ryan came over, we ate cake, went home.
Saturday, I introduced Fran to wii Fit. That helped her burn off some energy. I started feeling ill again. I've been sick for a month now. it starts off with a sore throat, then a full body ache with congestion... the sore throat and body ache set in just in time for us to head to the Colorado Ballet Co.'s Nutcracker. Some nuts cracked. Seriously though, I could hardly sit there thanks to the body ache. A nice whiskey helped, though.
Sunday I took advantage of feeling shitty and slept in while Anthony took his mom to regular mass. Michelle wanted to practice but we felt obligated to not leave Fran alone at the house, so we didn't. Not much else happened.
We're planning a new year's eve party because I fucking hate lodo. Y2K again? I don't know if we'll do a theme. I'm just more excited about figuring out a menu and hoping people show up.
We have two shows coming up -- Jan 12 up in Fort Collins at Surfside 7 and Jan 28th at the Larimer Lounge.
Sorry for the boring entry.
